SKIPPER`S DIARY

Due to many requests, during 2012 we will be starting back doing evening (4hr) and full day Bass trips. The (4hr) trips can be very popular with anglers wanting a couple of hours fishing after work please watch my vacancies page for more details and dates. I intend doing these trips from around mid June, sailing with a minimum of 5 anglers and a maximum of 8 anglers. The full day trips are for mainly full boats, but I intend to set aside some days for individuals, so watch my vacancies page for these. Sorry no rod hires on these trips.

Also check my page on CBUK for more pictures and catch reports

Sunday 18th March

Wednesday 17th January

Whiting, dabs, rays, congers and cod now making up the catch. Lugworm and squid cocktails being the top bait

Saturday 2nd February

At last a break in the weather with light north west winds giving pleasant conditions for most of the day. Started off in the bay only dogs and the occasional whiting and dabs, moved offshore for slack water where Rob Rees won the pool for the heaviest fish with a 14lb 4oz spurdog. Weather not looking too good for the week ahead again !!

Saturday 9th February

Had a new party onboard today from the Neath area, weather conditions quite good with a breeze from the north west. Fished east of Swansea but the fishing was slow all day, conger, dogs, spurdog and rays making up the catch. Best catch of the day went to Sid with this double shot of thornbacks on the same cast, hope to see you again boys.

Friday 15th February

A nice calm day with light easterly winds, gave it a go up east to see if we could find a late cod but the fishing was very slow. A move to deeper water for the slack saw us take some nice spurdogs, with the locks now closed for 5 weeks its now maintenance time for us and we`ll start back chartering in May.

Sunday/Monday 5th/6th May 2013

Nice to be back in the water and chartering again. Weather settled down for Sunday and Monday after a blow on Saturday. Fishing slow on Sunday with only dabs, dogs, gurnard and huss making up the catch. Better fishing on Monday, the hounds have now started to move inshore with best fish on the day going to Harry Crowder with a hound of 14lb 6oz. The hounds will now increase in size and numbers over the coming weeks so its worthwhile including a few peelers in your bait now.
